Assessment

Start Here

Feeling overwhelmed by this whole process? Let’s start with a developmental history, some interviews maybe even some observations of your student and generate a plan for the next steps.

College/Adult Transition

Figuring out what life after graduation looks like for your student is incredibly overwhelming and anxiety inducing. Are you making the right decision? What if they don’t have the right supports? Let’s take the stress out, and help you and your student feel excited and confident about this next step in their lives!

IEP review

Review of your students Individual Education Plan documents. Includes a clear and easy-to-understand summary of the documents, as well as questions to ask and talking points for your next IEP meeting.

Academic Assessment

A brief or comprehensive assessment to determine where your student is performing academically. Includes an assessment report and 60 minute results-explanation meeting

Brief Troubleshooting Assessments

Sometimes you don’t need a fully comprehensive evaluation to know how to start supporting a student. Many private schools ask for an assessment, but what they really want is an answer to “how do we help this kid?” There’s a faster (and cheaper) way to get there than a 25-page legally defensible psychoeducational assessment report (that people have a hard time reading anyway). Includes targeted assessment, a user-friendly summary of relevant findings and recommendations and a 60-minute results-explanation meeting.

Cognitive Assessment

Comprehensive assessment, looking at relevant areas of cognition, which may include: general cognition, processing, attention/executive functioning, visual-motor skills, auditory processing, memory, behavior and/or social-emotional concerns. Includes an assessment report and 90 minute results-explanation meeting and a user-friendly 1-page summary of the relevant findings and recommendations.

Advocacy

Don’t want to do those school meetings alone? Or feel like you have a hard time getting the team to hear your concerns? I’m happy to liaise with the school on your behalf or go with you to those meetings. I’ve sat on both sides of the table and understand the school’s perspective as well as yours. And I know we can get to a productive solution that leaves everyone feeling good. Let me help!
